Lakeside High School Foundation Presents...

2010 Scholarship Program

The Lakeside High School Foundation, Inc. is proud to sponsor three $1,000 scholarships. Funds for these scholarships are maintained by the Foundation and have been made possible by the generosity of our donors. For additional information or if you have questions, please contact the Foundation Scholarship Committee at lhsfscholarship@gmail.com.

The scholarships are open to all Lakeside High School seniors who meet the minimum requirements listed below. Eligible applicants intend to enroll in an accredited college, university, or other institution of formal education in Fall 2010.

The application checklist is posted below the scholarship descriptions.

Academic/Community Service Scholarship - Deadline past

The Academic/Community Service Scholarship is open to all LHS seniors who have:

• Excelled in leadership within the school and community
• Demonstrated overall academic excellence
• Maintained a 3.5 GPA, unweighted on a 4.0 scale
• and intend to enroll in an accredited college, university, or other institution of formal education in fall 2010

The Arts Scholarship - Deadline past

The Arts - Music or Visual Arts - Scholarship is open to all LHS seniors who have:

• Excelled in their chosen art form (Music: Vocal or Instrument and Visual Art)
• Strong involvement within their art community
• Demonstrated overall academic excellence
• Maintained a 3.0 GPA, unweighted on a 4.0 scale
• and intend to enroll in an accredited college, university, or other institution of formal education in fall 2010

The Viking Athletic Scholarship – Deadline past:

The Viking Athletic Scholarship is open to all LHS seniors who have:

• Received the Viking Award their senior year
• Excelled in leadership within the school, their team and the community
• Demonstrated overall academic excellence
• Maintained a 3.0 GPA, unweighted on a 4.0 scale
• and intend to enroll in an accredited college, university, or other institution of formal education in fall 2010

**Viking Athletic Scholarship application deadline is subject to change due to announcement schedule of spring sport recipients.

Scholarship Recipient's Responsibilities:

1. Recipeint is able to provide a copy of the Letter of Acceptance from an accredited college, university, or other institution of formal training.

2. Recipients may receive other scholarships for the time covered by this scholarship. However, should the recipient receive a full scholarship he/she must notify the Lakeside High School Foundation and relinquish this scholarship.

3. In the event the recipient decides not to purse a post secondary school, the Lakeside High School Foundation must be notified, and the recipient will be required to relinquish this scholarship.

• Two Letters of Recommendation - it is the applicant's responsibility to follow up with their references to ensure the letters are submitted via email by the deadline.
