April 2010 - The Bricks are Coming! The Bricks are Coming!

And you need one! The Lakeside Foundation is creating the opportunity for past, present and future students and families, past, present and future to become a permanent part of Lakeside High School by purchasing commemorative bricks as a part of the Lakeside renovation. Leave a lasting impression of your child, a teacher, an athlete, club or other memorable Lakeside event. The bricks will be used in the courtyard between the new fine arts building and the gym.

This is a great way to honor a Viking or a friend of the Vikings. Click here to order your bricks.

November 2009 - New Sound System Installed in the Lakeside Gym

Phase One of the new lighting and sound system in the gym has been installed and is operational. Thanks to Susan Weibel and Michael Wheeler for spearheading this project and to the SGA, Class of 2008, LHS Alumnus, and the Lakeside Foundation for funding it.

Phase Two is ready to go but we need your help. This phase will consist of a state of the art lighting system, a projection system, new microphones, stands and cables among other things.

Please make your donation toward this project to the Lakeside Foundation and be sure to earmark it for the Lighting/Sound project. Through your generous donations, the Foundation is hoping to help raise the additional $12,000 to $15,000 needed to make it possible to embark on Phase Two of this project.

For information on the technical aspects of the system, please contact Susan Weibel. If you have a question about donations, please contact Foundation President Tara Stamps.

Online donations may be made via PayPal. By clicking on the Donate button below, you will be directed to the PayPal website. Please earmark the funds to be used for the Lighting/Sound project.

As always, thanks for your support.

A little bit about Lakeside...

Lakeside High School, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is part of the DeKalb County School System. LHS students have excelled in both academics and athletics since the school opened in 1965. Many awards and honors have reflected the outstanding dedication to academic and athletic excellence by the students, parents and staff. In 1985, Lakeside was honored as a State and National School of Excellence; an honor which reflects the positive relationship between the school and community.

Over 10,000 alumni have walked the halls of Lakeside High School. Currently, Lakeside has over 1700 Vikings.

In 2005, a group of interested alumni, staff and parents recognized the need to support our community high school through financial and volunteer support. This group formed the Lakeside High School Foundation and received 501(c)(3) status in 2006. We believe that the Lakeside Foundation will serve as a means to support the school and the alumni. The board is made up of alumni, parents of current students and alumni, as well as loyal Lakeside community supporters.

Mission Statement
